Planning Process

Process of Planning

1. CR (change requirement) is first assigned by Team Leader. It is just similar to Error logging. This can be any change in the functionality of product or addition of any feature in new release (xyz) which is not there in old release (abc).

2.
On the basis of CR, requirements are framed and requirement number is assigned.

3. Requirement in the form of excel sheet is then uploaded to Test Director. It is done by utility named TD Export Wizard.

In this process, following steps are followed:

  • Path of TD is given.
  • Domain Name is given.
  • Project Name is given.
  • Username/Password of TD is given.
  • Mapping of various cells in excel sheet in accordance with TD is done. This is done to avoid wrong mapping.
4. After uploading to TD, requirement report is generated for review and is send to offshore team. Review is done by any senior member or TL. If report needs any modification like there is spelling mistakes or some cosmetic error is there, defect logs are created.



For Error logging, QA Log Management tool is used.

5. On Offshore, review of Requirement Report and PR form are performed.


To make Requirement, basically three documents are needed:

  1. Requirement Report
  2. PR (Peer Review) Form.
  3. Reference Document.

Review of Requirement Report through TD


Peer Review

QA Log should be done -> Requirement Report and Reference Document (contains Specs Information) are attached in TD and are send for review.

Detailing

This is basically writing the Test Case on the basis of Requirement. In this, whole flow is covered.
